Watching Arizona/Philly...I've seen Buffalo use two different silent counts on the road this season...Wood looking between his legs for the foot tap, and also Wood looking for the tap, lifting his head and counting '1-2-3' (whatever the call may be).

Philadelphia has been using their guard, watching over his left shoulder for the QB for a signal, then the guard turns his head forward and reaches over to tap the center with his left hand to trigger the center to snap.

Why is that not a false start? It doesn't appear that the center is counting one or two before snapping the ball.

I've wondered that myself. The rules are here :

I don't get it.

I still laugh when we thought getting Marrone was almost like getting Chip Kelly.

Chip Kelly is a pioneer.

Marrone is a chump.

I can't really laugh about it though.

Additional : Philly uses head bobs and jerks by center, 1-3 of them for snap (http://birdbreakdown.com/2013/09/17/eagles-funky-silent-snap-count/)

I don't know why that's not even more a false start either.

When Meyer was at Florida and they played Bama for the SEC championship, Pouncey would torque his neck from left to right and then snap the ball. It was insane to watch, fall start if you ask me, but they didn't call anything. What did end up happening was the refs told Florida to drop that **** or they would start tagging them with penalties. Florida got pounded that game.
