A defense attorney for a man who pleaded guilty to illegal gambling and conspiracy to launder money revealed that a check his client received was for $230,000 -- and came from the New York Islanders. Oooof. Vanek, of course, played for the Islanders last season after he was traded from the Sabres in October.
