    So if you an analytic guy, what do you advise marrone from Orton splits?

    View the 2014 NFL season full splits for Kyle Orton of the Buffalo Bills on ESPN. Includes full stats per opponent, and home and away games.

    BY DOWN CMP ATT YDS CMP% AVG LNG TD INT SACK RAT ATT YDS AVG LNG TD
    DOWN = 1 OVERALL 31 54 289 57.4 5.35 26 4 2 6 81.5 3 5 1.7 7 0
    DOWN = 2 OVERALL 35 47 363 74.5 7.72 61 4 1 2 115.8 0 0 0.0 0 0
    DOWN = 3 OVERALL 27 37 417 73.0 11.27 84 1 0 9 118.9 1 0 0.0 0 0
    DOWN = 4 OVERALL 2 3 59 66.7 19.67 35 0 0 0 109.7 0 0 0.0 0 0

    So maybe less first down throws? Also terrible number in Q2:
    BY QUARTER CMP ATT YDS CMP% AVG LNG TD INT SACK RAT ATT YDS AVG LNG TD
    QUARTER = 1 21 29 167 72.4 5.76 25 2 0 2 109.4 1 7 7.0 7 0
    QUARTER = 2 22 38 294 57.9 7.74 84 2 3 5 67.2 2 -1 -0.5 0 0
    QUARTER = 3 19 26 225 73.1 8.65 24 0 0 6 99.0 0 0 0.0 0 0
    QUARTER = 4 33 48 442 68.8 9.21 61 5 0 4 132.5 1 -1 -1.0 -1 0

    Yeah but the one that counts is 4 and 5 TD vs 0 Int and a rating of 132.5. I will take that all day.

      How about a 118 QB rating on 3rd down and a 132.5 rating in the 4th quarter.

      I'd say he's been pretty clutch.

        Strange discrepancies between comp% and YPA in Q1 and Q2.

          1st down features more long bomb take-a-chance throws

            Usually it is associated with play action. Looks like teams are not buying it, or confident 1st down runs do not need safety help. Look at sacks on 1st down pass plays. Really surprising.

              There has to be a tell somewhere that we are not covering up on run downs. The o-line can't be THAT bad.

                My advice would be to fire Pat Morris, sign a stud center and move Wood to guard.
