WACO, Texas -- Baylor offensive lineman Akeem Rettig was in stable condition at a Waco hospital Friday after being hospitalized earlier in the week for heat exhaustion brought on during conditioning workouts, school officials said.
The redshirt freshman from Price was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center on Monday when he began showing symptoms of heat exhaustion after completing a running drill.
Rettig developed complications that led to kidney failure once at the hospital and he is now undergoing hemodialysis treatments, hospital officials said....
