    Contract done; Kircus eager

The final detail -- his contract -- is out of the way, and former Grand Valley State wide receiver David Kircus is ready to start catching passes for the Lions.

"I'm real eager," Kircus said Thursday, after agreeing to a three-year deal believed to be worth slightly less than $1 million. "I'm all ready to go. I've been waiting all summer.

"It seems since the draft it's taken forever, but it's finally here, less than a week away, so I'm looking forward to it."

Kircus, a sixth-round draft pick, is the third Lions pick to sign a contract.

Safety Terrence Holt from North Carolina State and linebacker James Davis of West Virginia, both fifth-round picks, have signed. MORE....
