FB Frank Summers Released: Does this mean CJ plays?
I got the text saying Summers has been released. I'm assuming this is to make room for CJ. I guess he could still be inactive this week, but I hope he plays.

i liked Summers. under utilized though. and probably would have been good to have an extra blocker in there. but you got to make room for your stars.Comment

Summers is great, but the whole fullback role is somewhat obsolete these days. For short yardage situations Boobie can handle it.Comment

Boobie is big but he isn't a short yardage back, do we remember the preseason struggles in the red zone when he couldn't get it in? Gray figures to be an H-back type so wouldn't be shocked to see him in the backfield more.Originally posted by Mr. Miyagi View PostComment

I don't really like it but they never used him (big surprise there) for what they could have used him for from what I could see. He could run when they ran him, catch when they threw to him, get short yardage when they tried him, block, play special teams.
I think I'd have tried Summers and Dixon together in the red zone and left Spiller on IR.
Came down to numbers in the backfield, but I think Summers could have had a place here if they had an offense where they weren't so overwhelmed on who to use where.
Who would I cut instead ? Lee Smith. MarQueis Gray already blocks and catches better than he does.Comment
