View Full Version : Bills trade for Nassib a possible answer?

We all know most of the opinions coming out of the draft about Ryan Nassib and many were anticipating Marrone would take his boy. I'm thinking that the call was Whaley and Whaley was not convinced Nassib would transition well to the NFL. Nassib knows this offense well. Nassib hasn't looked bad with the limited time he's played in the NFL. Not sure if Coughlin would want to trade Nassib away but this still interests me to think about Nassib with the Bills (Marrone and Hackett). His college stats were impressive far beyond any of the FA QBs that will be available this off season for us to consider.

I'd rather have EJ than Nassib.

Why not I'd bring in 10 QBs and have them battle it out if I had the chance.

It is the only thing keeping the team back at this point.

Pick up a LG in Free Agency and find a QB. The only things you need to do and this is a team capable of competing for a Superbowl.

I wouldnt mind trading a 7th rounder for Nassib but I highly doubt he's our answer at QB. He was a slightly above QB in college, and that was even before Cuse was playing in the tougher ACC.

I would have the Bills scouts scour the CFL & Arena Leagues looking for a QB.

What has Nassib shown in the regular season he is worth trading for? I know he's played well in the preseason but quite frankly trading for him only up a can of worms we probably don't want. I think Marrone done well building the locker room which is half the battle for the team. To throw in an unknown at the QB and stir things up isn't the best thing to do. Now if you want to take a flier on a QB in the draft that's different spin. So I say no on Nassib this offseason, if after in 2015 we have long term QB question marks and Marrone is still around then I'd consider the move but as things are now, not a chance.

Exactly. Im a Cuse fan and while he was a pretty decent college QB (in a crap league), since when do pretty decent college QB's thrive in the NFL? There are some that have, sure, but very few.

Senior season...

The way Eli is playing they may need to keep Nassib

I would have the Bills scouts scour the CFL & Arena Leagues looking for a QB.

Another idiotic idea to add to the list.

They won't even consider this with a 1st round pick invested in Manuel.

They have Eli...

For one more season, I doubt they re-sign him to another long term contract after 2015. As I'd imagine next year will be the last year of the Coughlin/Eli show. Then Ben McAdoo takes over as HC in 2016 with Conner Cook a possible 1st Round pick by the Giants unless he comes out this season.

The Bills need to continue to develop EJ Manuel, I believe this is the route they are planning to go.

wow man try decaf

It's a long shot but we pulled Doug Flutie from the CFL, the Rams signed Kurt Warner from the Arena League. Never hurts to leave no stone unturned.

Yeah, because no QB has ever come out of the CFL to play well in the NFL, IDIOT.

Warren Moon, Joe Kapp, Joe Theismann, & Jeff Garcia are other CFL QB's that went on to have good careers in the NFL with Moon becoming a HOF player.

He couldn't be any worse than Spiro Agnew, or whatever the **** his name is.

Or Tasker.

If you thought this board was upset about trading a pick for sammy, i'd love to see the reaction of trading anything for nassib.

There is no one there right now that could hold a candle to Orton. Idiot. Know what you're talking about before you open your stupid, useless mouth. Idiot.

GROAN. None of those players are in the CFL right now. And no one remotely close. So, again, know what your'e discussing before you try discussing it, otherwise you're just following in Better Days foot steps. Which is tantamount to walking in *****.

Here's a list of 2015 QB free agents. Let me know if you see anyone who isn't complete garbage.

*sigh. I really do think this is the least bad option.

We need to resign ourselves to the fact that our QB's next year will be EJ Manuel and Kyle Orton. It's ****ty but less ****ty than other options like giving up even more of this year's draft picks to get the completely unproven Nassib or eating Cutler's monster cap hit.

Fix the OL and hopefully either EJ or Orton will step up behind better protection.
