How to Get Cutler & a 1st Rounder in an NBA style trade

If I were the Bills, in order for me to take this HUGE Financial Burden I would also want picks!

Think of it this way. The Bears have 3 options:
    1) Keep Cutler & be on hook for entire $118M & suck for next 5 years.
    2) Cut Cutler & take a $57M hit on Cap. This is a huge loss which would hold team back for a few years.
    3) Trade Cutler: this is the best option but who had enough Cap & Need that they would take him and take on the financial burden? No many or maybe no one!

So, if Bears are set on life without Cutler, they may have to trade him for close to nothing or might even need to give up picks. In the later case, it makes taking the financial obligation on, worth it for some teams. If the Bills got a 1st & 3rd and Cutler, I would pull the trigger. It comes down to this: is giving up a 1st worth $57M?
This Happens in NBA all of the Time!

I heard Adam Schefter this morning state something to the effect that if Chicago trades Cutler they free up $18mm for cap space next year and the new team inherits the rest of his contract including about $30mm in guaranteed money...this to me sounds like the dumbest move this team would have ever made if it happens.
Where else would you rather be than right here right now?

As far as I know, trading accelerates all the bonus the same as cutting. This was a sticking point during CBA negotiations, but the players fought for it because they felt it would reduce disruption to families by discouraging trades. In Hockey or Basketball the market value of a player is determined by how good they are for their price, so players on cheap deals are much more likely to get moved. In the NFL that effect is muted because all bonuses paid can't be amortized, so while the receiving team would get a deal only having to pay salary, the dealing team gets smashed with a big cap hit. It was important to the players since NFL contracts aren't guaranteed.

I can't imagine the Bills even considering making a move for Jay Cutler, being a QB is about reading defenses and being a leader, Cutler seems to be sub-par at both. There is no way you bring this guy in for that kind of money if he isn't a leader.

A first round pick wouldn't be enough compensation to take on that albatross, you need multiple draft picks because a contract like Cutler means guys like Hughes, Dareus, Glenn, Gilmore will find employment elsewhere when you can't pony up the money to resign them. Not sure why you want to lose existing talent so you can draft potential replacements, just to add a QB with a huge contract that's worn out his welcome on two different teams. This isn't the move you want to make.

Jay Cutler is a quitter with a $15m dollar cap hit.

              What's wrong with you people?

Chicago will just cut him. The cap hit will be offset by the Bears doing what they've done for most of my lifetime, have a low paid bum under center and try to win with defense. Yeah they have no defense now but they will try to get back to their roots and draft defender after defender next year, wait and see. There's not a team in the league that would take Cutler's contract. I'm not even sure he'll find work after he's cut.

Precisely. not only he's not a leader but his demeanor is negatively affecting the team morale. Have we ever heard of any of his teammates sticking up for him? Maybe Brandon Marshall but not many others.

I'd hold out for Cutler and two 1st rounders.

Why would anyone want him? Have you seen him play this year? Hes a slightly better version of JP Losman with a (much) worse attitude.

True fans want wins, not draft picks.

I actually expected more from you. At least some proof or evidence, but name calling???

According to Yahoo Sports, the Rockets will trade the 2012 first-round pick to the 76ers for future draft considerations.
The move is obviously an effort to clear cap space off of the Rockets' books as they make their move to sign Dwight Howard. As the 16th pick in the 2012 draft, White was set to make about $1.7 million next season.
Along with White, the Rockets will send an international prospect and cash considerations, according to the report.

                              >>>> This happens in the NBA all of the time. Their contracts are guaranteed and often times, teams will pay other teams to take on aging vets/under-performers to clear up Cap Space, So they can sign other players. In this case, we are talking about $1.7M, chump change!!!<<<<

                              Obviously You are Clueless...
