View Full Version : Officially no benefit in starting Orton... Hackett should be gone now

Now that we didn't make the playoffs again we officially accomplished nothing by starting Orton.

Marrone can stay only if he immediately fires Hack and hires one of the best OC's in the game. If not, he's gone.
Hack gone

Whaley can stay

Schwartz should stay but that cant happen

Dear Pegula... drop big coin on Cowher and have a legit coaching staff

Then you need to sign a G
Sign Ron Watson's replacement
Re-sign Hughes
Re-sign Spikes although they won't due to the emergence of Brown and Alonso coming back
Let Spiller leave unless he wants very reasonable money
Draft a RB in round 2 or 3
Draft Bryce Petty

Be ready for a down year in 2015 until we can get a high 1st for a shot at a QB. There's no Luck in this draft anyways.

Who is Ron Watson?

Who is Ron Watson?

I was wondering about that myself.

Who is Ron Watson?Chris Watsons younger brother. They screwed up the birth certificate it's Watson not Brooks.

Me too, but it made me laugh.

I'm with you for most of that, but want nothing to do with Cowher. If Marrone isn't willing to re-vamp the offensive coaching staff, promote Schwartz.

Is he related to Chris Brooks?

I used to want Cowher but let's be real - he's not likely ever to come back after 7-8 years in the booth. And to be honest, he doesn't seem to be the same Cowher. You can see he's gotten softer by the lack of animation in his tv coverage (his first years were a lot more full of fire) Long/short - if he ever does decide to come back... a) he's not going to b'lo, and b) he's likely to end up like Gibbs and flame out after he realizes the game has moved on in the last 7-8 years (and why should he work that hard again, he's probably making great bank on CBS, not to mention the direct tv commercials.

This line needs two guards and a tackle. Maybe even a LT and just slide in Glenn to guard since he's had a pretty bad year as well. Urbik, Pears, and Henderson are all garbage.

We find out soon what kind of owner Pegula is going to be. At the very least Hackett better be gone.

He's got the right attitude for this team of can't-manage-to-get-out-of-our-own-ways.

Brooks is the 5th CB on the depth chart. I have no issues with him sticking around but we might already have his replacement on the bench as you're forgetting we drafted Ross Crockell this year.

Why do we also have this idiot kickoff specialist who can't even kick a decent onside kick?

Marrone coached like a coward all season long, went out like a coward kicking the ball at midfield, afraid to try and gain a yard.

The o-line could literally be completed scrapped and it wouldn't be any worse.

I want a head coach who isn't scared to go for it on 4th and 1 even if they're on their own 35. A guy who'll go for 2 points once in a while just because he can. Someone who actually understands bubble screens to WRs work. And a QB who doesn't want to check it down every single pass play.

Thank you! I forgot about the lack of legit suprise special teams plays and zero balls when it comes to using them.

They're starting quality. Our G's are crap. But whats the point in drafting more when we drafted 2 just this last year? Cujo (yes he's a G long before we drafted him IMO) and Richardson. Sign Carpenter to play RG.

Henderson is a turnstile. Glenn and Wood both regressed.

Henderson is a 7th round rookie and in several games was our best OL. Glenn was very very good in this game. Go back and watch. Wood is up there with Mangold IMO.

The Cowher from 2006 did....not sure sure the Cowher in 2014 does. Then again, I did find this article, so as they say, never say never. Still, I don't know that I'd want him unless there were no other alternatives. 8 years is a long time away from the intensity of being a hc in the NFL.

He plays like a 7th round rookie and has no business being an NFL starter.

The Bills were 2-1 when Chris Williams started at LG. I'm not saying he was great but he might have been the best G on the roster this season.

The only issue with that is using up the cap space. Personally I'd hope a 2nd round pick could step in and start from the start but then again we had a higher Round 2 pick last year and most thought Kujo could step in and start. Of course OG isn't as demanding as RT.

Much like the rest of the season Henderson was completely owned most of the day, today it was by Khalil Mack.

That's the disturbing thing. Good players regressed. It's got to be coaching

Did he regress or did teams get more film on him and learn his weaknesses? or did he have the rookie free fall that many have? Either so he played better than most 7th Round rookies would on the season.

On regression I was speaking of Woods and Glenn.

No one on this o-line played particularly well this year.

Henderson is a project who shouldn't be starting on competent OL, he has a lot of growing to do if he's going to man the RT. Sad part is, what does it say about Cyrus that Henderson hasn't even had to worry about his job?

Glenn is the only guy on the OL I feel confident about but he took a big step back this year.

Yes on the players, but who is the boss of Hackett? This HC is dripping in culpability. If my underling is making bad moves, it's up to me to change that. Same for Coach Marrone.
