Gionta goes to the dressing room. Bartowski gets a 10-minute misconduct. All of this with 5:52 left in the 1st. #BUFvsBOS

Flynn on Gionta hit: Guys on the bench said it was a hit to the head.. Good for Marcus to step in there. #BUFvsBOS

Reminds me of the hit John Scott did last year Eriksson I believe. Amazing how when shoe on other foot the Bruins announcers say it was clean hit. I can't stand those two announcers. Most biased announcers in the game.

Barkowski is a dolt. The guy wouldn't even be playing if we could keep D-men healthy.

Not only is this a first offense. I am pretty sure it's his first hit. He's horrible, he should stick to what he's good at.. allowing forwards to run by him and dunk pucks.

I hope he gets a hearing and gets suspended forever.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Looked like a good hard hit to me... Gionta's face hit the ice before anything else.

I felt he came up on gionta, which, with giontas height, isn't that hard. But it still looked dirty.

Matt Bartkowski’s hit on Brian Gionta on Sunday was one of those moments when you wonder how it couldn’t be a suspension.

I don't agree or disagree with this.. but I thought it added to the thread.

Well if the playoffs started today Boston wouldn't make it and the NHL can't risk giving them the opportunity to get back in by suspending a player when they already have injuries.

Sorry but it's getting harder and harder to not feel as though we are being slighted. When it's Kaleta or John Scott the NHL can't dole out suspensions quickly enough but it gets ignored every time one of our guys gets taken out.
