The Outside Consultant Idea Has Never Been More Important

The idea that defeating Green Bay = Everything is fine... blew up like a bomb yesterday.

That was a 2 win Raiders team that held our RB's to 13 yards on 13 carries and had a free direct route to our inconsistent QB all day with our paper OL. Reality.

Bills won with D and ST's play all year, while getting a subpar effort from the O most every week. You need points to win. They were NEVER a serious playoff threat.

With a new owner and opportunity to change the entire complacent culture of this organization, the last thing I wish to see is little change and the false idea everything is just dandy. It's not and we need to rid ourselves of the Wilson era mindset of low expectations.

I will be very interested to see what the Pegula's choose to do after the Pats game. They sat on their hands with the Sabres and listened to Darcy lead them down a cliff. Will they do the same with Brandon, who will be trying to defend all his past moves from the last several years of failure ? I don't care that he's supposedly out of the football side of the building...he has their ear right now, more than anyone from the leftover crew.

Call Ernie Acorsi, Ron Wolf, Bill Polian or anyone of merit not acting in their own self interest that is currently on the payroll. Give them carte blanche.

This whole " Average is OK " mindset must be thrown in the lake permanently. This act has grown old.

Seantrel Henderson looked terrible. Glenn struggled. The whole line looked awful.

In reality, it's something that should have already been in place by December 1, so that the consultant had an opportunity to scrutinize the organization when it was operating under in-season conditions for the last month of games. Kind of a fail on Pegula's part to not have done so, IMO.

Has Pegula said he's looking to bring in an outside adviser?

Look at it from his perspective for a minute. This FO and Staff just took a team from a Top 10 pick in the last NFL draft to being one of the final three teams eliminated from the AFC playoff race. Additionally the team is profitable and I believe every home game this year sold out.

I'm not sure from his perspective he's going to see the reason most of the fans see to make sweeping changes in Year 1. Now if they falter next year then the house gets cleaned, but don't be surprised if the moves this year are minimal to nil.

As long as that consultant isn't Mike Holmgren.

Be careful what you wish for. If he hires Bill Polian, Marrone might get an extension. He called him a coach of the year candidate last week.

I'm not looking for an outsider to agree with my perspective, since I'm a silly fan with a supposed drinking problem.

I just want an honest evaluation of what needs to be improved and how to go about it, instead of the standard company line of " patience " which has done little to improve our fortunes for far too many years.

That was a disgrace yesterday and any attempt to explain it as one bad day is laughable. It's who they are and the organization has to quit ignoring real problems like the OL, play calling, proper leadership and QB play.

I see the voice of logic entering into this discussion and in the process squelching our emotions. Unfortunately, or is it fortunately, much of what you say is true.

                    Seems reasonable to me.

I don't think much needs to be changed. The problems you pointed out are the obvious ones, if they fix those then I don't see a need to clean house. This is a decent team with a few holes that just happen to be at some of the most important positions on the field, and therefore are the hardest to fix.

I thought we all agreed at the last meeting that the supposed drinking problem was simply a figment of all our imaginations? And that "To dull the pain" is a perfectly acceptable reason to pour another.

                            Marrone isn't the problem.

He has gotten better since last year and he will continue to improve with his game day decisions. OBD needs to address the O-line and QB positions to give Marrone a chance.

                              I agree.

I was just assuming Night Train wanted to clean house, which was off base.
