All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
I LOL'd at your "March 2013" as the Smith trade happened on Feb. 27, 2013.

I don't see any FA's, and the only draft pick I might wonder about is Nassib, only to keep the Syracuse trio together (would have eased Hackett's transition and lessened impact of not having a QB coach), though I'm not sure just transplanting them all together like a bush into the NFL would have worked well anyway.
Shoulda just kept Fitzpatrick and not worried about getting Kolb and then Orton.
Didn't we offer to keep him but he turned down cutting his salary down so we ended up cutting him? Ultimately yes keeping Fitz probably the best move in hindsight. Yet the ultimate plan was trying to find someone better than Fitz (ie develop EJ) it appears that might have failed but tough to say as sure it looks like EJ's a bust but part of me still holding out hope for EJ or maybe another journeyman (I've stated I like Ponder) and/or developing a young QB from the mid to late draft this year (Chuckie Keeton my choice).
A quarterback that was drafted in either the '13 or '14 draft, and a quarterback that was signed as a free agent from March 2013 until now.
Which two guys would you rather have over EJ and Orton?
I think the answer is the Bills waited at least one year too long to address the giant QB hole on the roster. That said, i would take Bridgewater over any QB on the Bills roster even though he has been underwhelming as a rookie.
The should have keep Fitz and drafted value at QB in both drafts. Fitz is like having a players coach on the team. He's smart, he just doesn't have the tools to be a starter. There is no way I would have drafted any QB in the 1st and 2nd round in last years draft. I was very vocal about that at the time, none of the guys were worth it. If we could have got Glennon in the 3rd, great. If not, I would have draft the best guy there. It's not like we get a lot of production out of 3rd rounders anyway. Has Goodwin really done much more for this team then a decent back-up QB would have. Then I would have drafted Bridgewater or Carr out of this years draft.

Lovie Smith, proving once again he cannot coach, will probably trade him for a 7th round pick and a sandwich this spring. He hates him as much as he hates winning.
