Brian Xanders, senior personnel executive, Detroit Lions: As Broncos (http://www.nfl.com/teams/denverbroncos/profile?team=DEN) GM, Xanders built the roster that lured Peyton Manning (http://www.nfl.com/player/peytonmanning/2501863/profile), with Demaryius Thomas (http://www.nfl.com/player/demaryiusthomas/497328/profile) among the franchise-level talents acquired. And in Detroit, he's spearheaded an effort to modernize the scouting operation and was part of a coaching search.

Doug Whaley isn't going anywhere IMO, and if he does get canned in favor of Marrone we would have been better off with Bon Jovi winning the bid.

Given the choices on that list, I'd throw the bank at Eric DeCosta and it still wouldn't be enough, so :

Duke Tobin, director of player personnel, Cincinnati Bengals: Like McClay, Tobin works in an owner-centric model, and has played a substantial role in stocking a very talented roster.

Because Duke Tobin is too cool of a name for a GM to pass up.

Very cool name, but Tom Gamble is right up there in terms of cool GM names.

Eliot Wolf, director of pro personnel, Green Bay Packers: Ron Wolf's son would be very young (32) to be a GM, but he is considered a rising star in the business. The success of John Dorsey and Schneider certainly doesn't hurt.

Would have been cooler if he was Duke Gamble.

Trusting the rock of Google, I looked up Duke Tobin.

That's not Duke, it's David Tobin PhD from Duke University, but he's a pretty smart guy being a PhD so you know you can count on a Tobin, especially a tough Tobin named Duke who played ball for the Memphis Pharaohs I have to add.

EJ Manuel, Cyril Richardson, Cyrus Kouandjio, Chris Williams, Seantrel Henderson, and hate to it but if Sammy Watkins was the best receiver in the 2014 draft, he did not show it.

Whaley has been great on defense. Offense has been horrible.

I figured I'd do some more research on David Tobin, PhD, just in case, and googled him, knowing people here would certainly be interested.. There are many David Tobins, but this is my favorite David Tobin, Dr. Z. David Luo, on the faculty of University of California at Irvine :

I'd hire him.

Asinine comment of the month.

I had plenty of more asinine comments this month, thank you very much, and top shelf asinine comments I worked real hard at.
