Then again, I got about $12 in my pocket, so it's up to Pegula.

His current GM set him up to fail and should be the one fired.. But the Jets will do the wrong thing and fire Ryan.

His players will run through a wall for him.
He believes in a strong running game, tough D and never afraid to gamble in close games.
Straight shooter.
He ALWAYS plays the Pats tough.
I've seen him win playoff games.

So tired of these conservative, milquetoast, gutless coaches. I had my doubts about the guy initially but his teams played well beyond their actual talent more often than not. Love his fire and the players respond.

Change the culture.

I mostly agree. I don't like Rexy, but he does get the best out of his players. If hiring an ass hole is what it takes to get us to the playoffs, I'm OK with it. I just hope he doesn't bring Morningwig with him. The Jets suffered from the same thing we did offensively. Shut down the run and make Geno/Vick (E.J./Orton) beat you. They still played pretty good D even with a weak back end.

Of course, it might not be in Ryan's best interests. He dropped all those pounds, but the Anchor Bar would be calling his name......along with Bocce Pizza.

I wouldn't be opposed to it, if he we didn't already have a head-coach-in-waiting with a little fire that is a defensive specialist on staff. I certainly consider myself to be old school, but Rex's offensive philosophy and the coordinators he's brought in seem to hail back to just after the introduction of the forward pass, and that's a little too old school for even me. I have more faith in Schwartz to bring in somebody that would be able to improve the offense without wasting the talent we have at the skill positions.

The Jets & Bills have one thing in common: They decided to draft their QB in a draft that many could foresee as a draft where there were no QBs worth drafting. So the GMs tied the hands of their coaches & OCs with stupid decisions. Meanwhile, if the same GMs had just waited a year their teams could have drafted Carr & Bridgewater instead of Manuel & Smith. I'd like to know one NFL GM who would trade EJ for either Carr or Bridgewater or Smith for either one of those 2.
In hindsight, the best move for the Bills was to have stuck with Fitzpatrick & waited a year to draft the QB of the future (a move I recommended on this board after the 2012 season because to me it was apparent that the class of 2013 was the worst QB draft since 2007). http://www.billszone.com/fanzone/showthread.php/216255-What-if-this-draft-is-similar-to-2007-2002-or-even-1996?p=3999417&highlight=#post3999417
Both teams made a fatal mistake of listening too much to the fans and panicking in a year that the drafting of a QB was just plain dumb.

I'd hire him as head coach... then bill parcels as d-coordinator and Bill Walsh as o-coordinator.

thatd be awesome.

I'd take Rex over Marrone in a second...Not even blinking about it.

thatd be awesome.I'd rather have Parcells as HC and Rex as DC. Walsh might be harder to get unless you petition St. Peter.

We had to draft a qb after the prank call basically recorded nix saying fitz sucked.

Ryan sucks.

The current GM has only been there a year or two. So he failed under two GMs.

I do not want a HC that refuses to be involved at all in the offense. Ryan always has. He is roundly criticized for it.

He may get his defensive players to play hard for him, bit not the offense. He turns a complete blind eye to the offense. So, even with a known offensive coordinator he couldn't do anything.

His play-off teams were his first two years. Those were teams mostly built by Eric Mangini.

Ryan is fool's folly.

Moreover, Idzik tried to HELP Ryan. He brought in two much more explosive/dynamic/proven WRs than they had in years in Harvin and Decker.

Rex is a bumbling shadow of his father, who himself was a bumbling fool.

Rex Ryan can not fix the Bills offense.

He's a defensive coach that likes to run the ball a lot.

I don't get why anyone thinks this guy is a good head coach, he has failed miserably in NY. He cannot lead a team period. He lucked into a good situation an the team has gotten progressively worse every year he has been there.

Rex Ryan started Geno Smith over Michael Vick until it was way too late for the Jets.

Great on defense, bad on offense.

No thank you. He's a DC and nothing more.

As long as Vince Lombardi was the GM that would be awesome.

they had no bidness winning eight last season so that was a pretty masterful job imo

The only way i'd be ok w/ Rex as head coach is if he came in and won a SuperBowl. Otherwise I can't stand him.

I don't need to like our HC. Rex can beat the pats and he's been to 2 AFC championship games.

Would be great to have him with the guys we have on D and I think he learns from what happened in NY.

No.

On top of being incredibly indecisive, Ryan is a media wreck. He is DC material and nothing more.

Marrone vs Ryan: 3 out of 4

I bet Rex wouldn't punt on 4th and short so often... knowing he needs to win his locker room, let alone close games.

LOL at this thread.

This monster of a head coach beat a team that couldn't get out of it's own way (Colts) and a team that that had to fire it's coach. Other than that they can't find their way out of a box unless it's to fire up the circus.

Good move hiring Ryan. You like it, you live with it. This team is going nowhere faster than any team since Jauron's teams.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he would learn from his mistakes as the jets HC . Instead he turned a team that was fairly disciplined and turned them into jerks who can't control their emotions and stay focused on the goal.

We have a bunch of spoiled brats who don't care if they hurt their team as long as they get to act like jerks.

I was so wrong about this idiot...Guy's a loser of a coach and no stupid ass scrub win will change that...

I wish he would've took his fat ass to Atlanta.

Hey. Jets fans seem to be very happy with Chan Gailey and Ryan Fitzpatrick right now.

Your hero Matt Cassel says hi. Nice "get even" move.

I doubt anyone could win with these injuries and I'm as skeptical as anyone right now. Keep perpetuating your hysterical agenda to be right about everything. :bf1:

Matt Cassel would have been the correct QB to start over these clowns.
