All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Besides, I really don't care if he chooses the Packers (if he has a choice)
Football is a business. Guys get traded/cut/retired in the best interests of the team. As long as a player doesn't blast the city, fans, & team when he leaves it's cool with me.
I'm sure it's tough for players like Joe D, Lofton, or other greats who played in multiple cities to be forced to "pick" one. It's like picking which of your children you "love" more.
Baseball sucks. I beleive the player can choose what team he goes in as, and it's all politics. I heard Wade Boggs might go in as a Tampa Bay Devil Ray due to his last contract.
Q: Is a new Hall of Fame member enshrined as a member of a team?
A: When elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, an individual is recognized for his accomplishments as a player, coach, or contributor. As such, an enshrinee is not asked to "declare," nor does the Hall of Fame "choose" a team under which a new member is enshrined.
No prob...I'm keeping an eye on that site a lot considering I'll be there for inductions again....and with 2 Bills going in, it's gonna be great. I'm just wondering if we're gonna score invites to the reception this year, like we did with Billy Shaw.

Nice comparison. Players who played with multiple teams have to make a choice that is bound to disappoint someone. Lofton likely just chose the team he was with the longest. He'll still get plenty of cheers from Bills fans after he gives his speech.
He played his first 9 years as a Packer. He played 4 our of his last 5 years as a Bill. That makes him a Packer that played for the Bills. His best receiving years were in Green Bay.
