"The more I hear, the more I'm inclined to believe Bill Polian will return to the Bills. But nothing guaranteed."

This is a tweet from Tim Graham, today.

Not florio, not LaCanfora. Tim Graham.

Something is going on. I don't know what, but something.

Other than the fact Polian himself said no?

Yeah, totally optimistic about it.

Typical Bills, nothing's changed.

Any chance Kelly comes back to QB?

Maybe he does, but it sounds like its less of an immediate organizational analysis and more of a longer term engagement. Which means 2015 is quite possible a completely lost season.

Well, considering that the "immediate organizational analysis" for the better part of a decade has been done by the useless Russ Fahking Brandon, I'll take the soon-to-be Hall of Famer.

The more I hear whiny ass wipes cry about this, the more I hope it happens.

For a team that finished with a winning record it's a kick in the balls.

The spin is nice, but at what point do you stop trying to justify decisions that do nothing but support the opposite actions that you want?

Director of Football Operations?

They have cheese dick Brandon in charge of the non-football side, so maybe they want someone in charge of the Football side.

Polian himself denied this. I lime Polian for what he did here. I respect what he did elsewhere.

But his comments about Marrone, and the state of the Colts sans Manning, make me queasy.

Talk about spin.

Winning record is a SPIN.

A win against a Patriots* team that had nothing to play for & was playing SCRUBS should not count as a win.

With the playoffs on the line, losing to a team that only two other teams lost to all year is a kick in the balls.

Below are the 2004 to 2011 NFL Drafts for the Colts. From 98 to '03 they drafted multiple hall of famers, incredible really. But then you see a noticeable decline that lasted for almost a decade. I've highlighted players that I think turned out to be high quality NFL starters at some point in their careers, you can argue against some but I was trying to be fair to Bill Polian because he's the greatest of all time. I chose position players only, and left of ST/K

The really good players that had multiple above average years are Bob Sanders (even though he was always injured), Antoine Bethea, and Jake Scott. You may argue for Joseph Addai, but his career was over in a flash, so I think he's a level below the guys mentioned above.

In the second group you have Jerry Hughes with two solid NFL seasons, Tim Jennings who was awful for the Colts but resurrected his career in Chicago where he had a couple of good years, and I'll throw in Pierre Garcon as well. Two of three players had better careers with other teams, not Bills fault.

7 players in 8 drafts, drafts 2007 to 2011 are ****ing disasters. For half a decade the Colts basically failed repeatedly in the draft. Who was responsible for this? I mean, the last 5 drafts are worse than some Bills stretches.

Good thing he drafted all those hall of famers early, he rode those horses for as long as he possibly could, but at some point the bad drafts caught with them. Feel free to call me an ass wipe.

LaCanfora tweeted minutes ago that he continues to hear Polian to Bills in a Football Czar type role. Furthermore he says his son Chris Polian would NOT be coming with him to Buffalo.

The whole public denial by Polian was apparently related to the upcoming Hall of Fame vote, and by his soon to expire ESPN contract.

Not a huge shock there. Polian is a guy with an ego (rightfully so) and I'm sure the HOF means a ton to him.

Yes. Polian does not have a good drafting history in Indianapolis.

Realizing that every team misses on a lot of guys year in and year out, his % of misses was bad.

I'm not a fan of bringing Polian back at all. It's over. It's done. Let it be.
