Dear Doug, Saint Doug, Mr. Marrone, whatever you are calling yourself these days,
First off, we'd like to say thank you. Thank you for doing us all a favor and quitting before the going got too tough for you. We saw shades of yellow on game day (punting on 4th and 1 from the opponent's 40), but this just confirms what many of us already knew. You are a coward. A chicken. A cheese eating surrender monkey.
You walked into our lives and gave us all hope. You talked a big talk, sometimes even walked a big walk. Heck, you gave us something we haven't had in years. Then, you dumped us like the high school quarterback dumps the head cheerleader when he finds out she's pregnant. You walked away without saying a word. No goodbye, no sorry, no nothing. It's ok, though, we are used to being let down, it's practically in our blood.
Alas, don't worry my friend. We will be fine. We are a tough group of people. Blue collar people. People who DON'T GIVE UP. We don't quit. We don't turn our backs on the people we support. We are a family. We will be here when things turn around.
