Because I'm sure we'll sweep the Jets and beat the Pats once in a meaningful game.

Rex knows how to put an elite D on the field and here we have a stacked secondary with guys who are good at blitzing like Roby, Searcy and Duke.

Plus any OC would be happy to come here and benefit from having a strong D to get you the ball often.

But Rex Ryan has always had a strong D and never been able to get a good OC with the Jets. What OC is he going to bring in that makes the O better?

I think Rex can be successful with the right OC. A guy that can oversee the entire offense himself, and has no interest in defense is ideal. Chan/Tresman type of guy.

Trestman? Roman? Dirk Koetter...

There are a number of things I don't like about Rex but he does bring 2 things I do like: his players play hard for him and he has NFL HC'ing experience. Not all that experience was good and he is a sideshow. But when you talk about hiring a coordinator for his 1st NFL job understand the odds favor the guy failing. I would prefer Schwartz over Rex. There'd be less sideshow and less upheaval. The Bills could use a little continuity for a change.

Maybe he'd keep Hackett?

Who knows what Hackett without Marrone would be like? My sense is the entire offense was handicapped by the saint.
That said, I'd rather someone else was OC.

In Pittsburgh, Mike Tomlin, from a 4-3 background, came in as the HC and he let LeBeau run the 3-4 defense.

On the other hand, PIttsburgh does have a football owner whose sole business is the team and who actually knows a thing or two about football.

Hire Rex and bring Chanlee back. Super Bowel.

Don't know if you're kidding or not but that thought went through my mind to bring Gailey back as OC and promote Schwartz to HC. Peppers to DC.

The Bills could go 3-13 with Rex as HC but I think the odds are much better that the Bills would make the playoffs with Rex as HC like he did his first two years as HC of the Jets.
