JUL 19 (afternoon)--Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Saturday that the Chiefs have agreed to terms of a three-year deal with seventh-round draft pick (230th overall), DT Montique Sharpe. The Chiefs are the first team to agree to terms with all of their draft picks from the 2003 NFL Draft. Kansas City also agreed to terms of a one-year deal with NFL Europe DT Daniel Benetka. As per Chiefs policy, no further terms of the agreement were disclosed.
Kansas City heads to training camp today with a full complement of 91 players on its roster. In addition to the regular training camp roster limit of 80 players, the Chiefs have 10 exemptions for NFL Europe players, plus an additional exemption for an NFLEL National Player (Benetka). Those 11 exempted players may remain on the Chiefs roster until the final cut to 53 players on August 31st. ...
