Said he's still in play in Chicago but that he could end up in Houston as a consultant if he doesn't get a gig. He might have benefited financially in the short term by this move, but it's looking more and more like an ill-advised decision in the long run.

The old boy network, with the new guys...he and O'Brien are tight.

"Uhhhh...hey Bill...I kinda ****ed myself out of a real job by bailing on Buffalo, but I'm making good bank for next year and will come cheap. Got anything for me?"

He can tell them what he would do to fix the o-line, run an offense, develop a qb. Then they can do the opposite.

What happens if negotiates to come back and coach the Bills?

What happens if negotiates to come back and coach the Bills?

Unrealistic hypothetical that does not deem wasting any time even thinking about, much less expressing an opinion.

IDIOTIC thinking, but that is no surprise.

What happens if negotiates to come back and coach the Bills? They won't take him back nor would the players accept him. They might just spit in his face and go elsewhere when possible.

Wasn't Schefter one of the people saying how "coveted" Marrone would be if he opted out...?

Sorta like leaving your wife, why would you leave unless you already have something setup.

The guy is a moron.

That's not true. Some may leave without having anything setup.

I'm just glad that pic stopped where it did...

Marrone screwed himself by believing his own hype. His ego is monumental.

I do think Pegs should pay him some more money to bring Marrone back. Then, the players can spit on him and throw rotten vegetables at him.

Maybe bring in some monkeys from the zoo to throw **** at him too.

That show would sell out the Ralph in any weather.

Perhaps he burned too many bridges. I wonder if any other NFL players were paying attention to this. Would they want to play for a coach who quits on a team the way Marrone did? Players like continuity and Marrone for no good reason other than money and ego balled up contunity like wrapping paper and ripped it apart.

He's also a terrible speaker. Anybody remember the presser after losing a tough game, he said something about going home, being a man, not going to pet his dog? He's a weird dude.
