Giants request to interview Pepper Johnson for DC

Giants have requested permission to interview Bills DL coach Pepper Johnson for their DC job. Interview will happen early this week.

Unlikely, but this may precipitate a move if we are leaning towards Schwartz as HC. I would guess Peppers would be on his radar for DC.

It was only a matter of time before we lost him. We might even replace him with someone better depending on Gunther Cunningham's availability. I know last year he had some kind of special coaching/personnel role with the Lions but maybe Schwartz can convince him to come here and man the D-line for a year or two.

Shows that the Giants are smart and can recognize good football men.

This should make obvious to the Bills the following moves:

Schwartz to head coach.

Johnson to DC.

Shurmur to OC/ assistant head coach.

Foles in as QB.

Pegula says money is no object.
