All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

Mike Solari, OL coach of the 49ers and Chris Foerster, OL coach for the Redskins.
I don't know much about either of these guys, but any thoughts? With all the young O-linemen on this team and how poorly the whole line played this past season it seems like a pretty important hire.
Solari is a very good offensive line coach. He coached the O-line for KC under Vermeil,he coached the Seahawks O-Line,and recently was the 49ers O-line coach.he also was the O-line coach in the college ranks at Alabama.

And all of them had great running games. Sign him up.
Anonymity is an abused privilege, abused most by people who mistake vitriol for wisdom and cynicism for wit
I'm liking the way they are going about things. Both guys have history, with either Roman or Ryan, or both. They are also experienced guys. I saw something on wiki about one of them, that said he had changed to a ZBS over the last few years, and tbh, that is a plus point in my view, the more familiarity a guy has with all schemes, the better. Can't remember which one it was though.
Does Roman run a zone blocking scheme? Would that suit the current O-line better?
Hard to answer. No, maybe, and yes due to Roman/Solari.
From the Rumblings breakdown :
The run blocking will be much different, as well; the 49ers attacked defenders with pulling blockers on counters, whams, and then would throw in zone-read looks as well. It is a lot for a front seven to prepare for.
Roman has probably the most complex run game in the NFL. You will see some inside and outside zone running plays, but you mainly see "big man" run plays like power, counter, trap, and iso. What made them complex was that they would run them out of any formation and personnel grouping. Another hallmark of Roman's 49ers running game: they were very sound on the blocking angles that they took, which made their blocks more effective.
