    Brandon Spikes

IMO, this is the most important UFA that we have this off-season. This is the perfect player for that Bart Scott type role that was successful for the Jets. Anyone hear any news about this guy and if we have a chance to keep him? We have the cap for it. Does 6 mill over 2 years get it done?

Yeah, I would not be surprised to see Harris who is a FA sign with the Bills.

Rex likes to bring in players he has had before.

Harris is a good LB but is aging at 30 years old.

          You may be right.

I am a Spikes fan myself & would be happy to see him stay, but like I said Rex does like to bring in former players.

Maybe the Bills LB will be the cheaper of the two?

Rex referenced Spikes as a player he likes too.

Yeah, Rex has only ever had great things to say about Spikes and Spikes said that he loved being here. So I would be surprised if they can't work out a deal to bring him back. I guess the only question is, with Kiko returning this season, and Bradham and Brown both really emerging this past season as good LB's, what would be Spikes role? All three of those guys are much more versatile. He already had a limited role last year with Bradham and Brown getting way more snaps at LB.

                Agree with this.

Spikes will be gone and Harris will replace him.

Rex also had a defense that destroyed by Kyle Orton.

Spikes was a monster for us. I don't want any of "Rex's players".

Letting Spikes go would be monumentally stupid.

Spikes role would be the same as it has been, a first & second down, third & short run stuffing LB.

He is not only better at that than any other LB on the Bills, he is better at that than any other LB in the NFL.

Spikes should be our number one focus, yes, even over Hughes.

If you mean in house, I'm inclined to agree.
Iupati should be our #1 priority.

I'll leave Dareus as the #1 priority and it's not even close.

With the switch back to a 43 under from the wide nine, Spikes becomes a higher priority than Hughes for sure. I'm still trying to figure out where Kiko fits, because he really doesn't unless Rex is willing to tinker with some things and move him all over the field.
