Talk of new home for Colts offers chance for a wish list

In a perfect NFL world, the Indianapolis Colts' home could be called "The Stable."

Imagine a retractable-roof stadium with 63,000 seats. Four corner scoreboards would steal the eyes from the grass playing surface below. Club seats could have video monitors so fans could order concessions or access an Internet feed to check other scores and highlights. Why not have video games for the kids, too?..

The reality of a new NFL stadium in Indianapolis is that neither the city nor the Colts have stated definitively one needs to be built.

However, if Indianapolis is going to have a new state-of-the-art facility, it's unrealistic to expect one to be completed soon. There is currently no proposal for a new stadium. Further, it would take a minimum of two to three years to construct.

"While a new stadium may be part of a city and team solution, it's certainly not a contingency for success," said chief deputy mayor Michael O'Connor....
