It seems scarcely a month passes this season without Buffalo Sabres right wing Chris Stewart (http://forecaster.thehockeynews.com/hockeynews/hockey/player.php?5722) popping up in the rumor mill. Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports (http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/predators-interested-in-chris-stewart/) the Calgary Flames and Nashville Predators could have interest in the 27-year-old Stewart, who’s an unrestricted free agent in July.
One reason Stewart hasn’t moved is his stats, tallying only 15 points in 45 games. That’s well off his two 28-goal seasons earlier in his career. Another could be the asking price. On Dec. 27, the Ottawa Sun’s Bruce Garrioch claimed (http://www.ottawasun.com/2014/12/27/whats-next-in-jersey) Sabres GM Tim Murray sought a “high-end prospect and a top pick” for the veteran winger. Unless Murray lowers lower his asking price, Stewart isn’t going anywhere.

I get the idea. Name a high price and see if anyone bites. But yeah that price needs to come down. And I'm sure Murray knows that

I predict Murray will be hated here within 2 years.

When many of these draft picks don't pan out, the patience will come to an end.

And what if they do pan out?

To become part of the long tradition of champions in Buffalo?

The world will end.
