I've been checking SB ticket prices because I'm going next year & will be trying to time it right. Last Monday (1/20) prices for the cheapest seats on Stubhub were $2,200-2,300. Today (1/25) the prices are up to $4.505 for the cheapest seats. Last year they came down and continued down until Monday before the game. They then rose slightly but never reached anything as high as this year. I bought last year on Tuesday before the game for $1,857 at the 2nd lowest price & I could have gotten a ticket for $1,500-$1,600 for the lowest priced tickets that day. These $4,500 tickets are scaring the hell out of me because I have to buy 3 tickets next year & that's just too damn high for the cheapest seats.

remember, pheonix is the 4th largest city in the USA, it's 6-8 hours driving distance from SD/LA/LV, and Seahawk fans are familiar with the stadium and likely aren't intimidated by the distance, i'm sure all of this will make tickets insanely pricey this year. (the ny superbowl was outside too, no one wants to go to a superbowl in the winter outside, which probably depressed prices a bit)

I ended up paying $4,726 per ticket for SB 50-more than the $4,500 that I thought was too high last January. I'm in the upper endzone. I'm going to the 49ers/Cardinals game on 11/29 and will check the seats out then. After last year I didn't want to get shut out since I had a family commitment to go to SB 50. I bought through Stub Hub, which is more expensive than other sites but had deep enough pockets not to stiff anyone last year. Even big sites like Vivid stiffed their customers last year, making it impossible for me to trust them. At least I got my flight cheap at $395 round trip & I have free lodging.
Right now the cheapest tickets on Stub Hub are over $5,000 after adding in over 17% in fees not shown on the web price before checking out.

Here's a sample of the differences between advertised ticket prices shown & what fees you have pay:
1st is the fee added to the ticket price shown, then the delivery fee. So a ticket listed at $4,000 with a 20% fee and a $15 delivery charge would actually cost you $4815. Delivery charges are on the total order, not individual tickets, so in the example 2 seats would cost $9,615.

TickPick only had a $5 shipping fee added to the original price shown. TNTickets: 10%fee + $15 delivery; TicketsMate: 23% +$15 delivery; SeatGeek/TicketNetwork 20% +$15 delivery, SeatGeek/Fanexchange 10% +$19.95 delivery; VividSeats 22% + $15 delivery; CheapTickets 21% + $15 delivery; StubHub 17% + $10.50 delivery, NFL Ticket Exchange 16.5% , PrimeSport 18%, Bargain Seats 29.5% + $15 delivery, Goldentickets 3% (one of the lowest around) + $25 delivery. BoxOfficeTicketSales 30.5% + $15 delivery.
