According to NFL sources, the Bills now are looking at someone who doesn't have Polian's lofty stature, yet possesses the experience to provide guidance to GM Doug Whaley when it comes to evaluating talent.

I don't know much about this Ron Hill, but I think it's a very good idea to bring in some fresh insights from outside the organization.

Whaley gets one more off season before I sack him, Russ Brandon should have been booted a while back.

Get over the football czar already, just another level of management to **** things up. Unless they are planning on being absentee owners there is no need for one.

Hills credentials are bad. What personnel did he bring to the Browns, Falcons, or Jaguars. He was part of 4 Super Bowls 25 years ago. BFD.

He's not a GM, no way to tell what he advised.

Best I can find on him is :

From his Cleveland hire in 2014 - http://www.dawgsbynature.com/2014/6/10/5799100/browns-hire-ron-hill-in-personnel-department-mike-hagen-as-area-scout

NFL hire in 2006 - http://nflbiz.blogspot.com/2006/09/ron-hill-appointed-nfl-vp-of-football.html

Development/regional combines, 2014 - http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000338410/article/ron-hill-sees-regional-combines-as-development-arm-of-nfl

Not your standard advisor ala Parcells, Wolf, Casserly, Polian. He's a scouting/personnel advisor type, not a czar. If they do hire him as a czar, they're in trouble because he's done no relative team development.
