GLENDALE, AZ—Having defeated the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 Sunday night to win Super Bowl XLIX, the New England Patriots reportedly provided an incredible storybook ending to the NFL’s credibility. “Honestly, you couldn’t have scripted it any better in a movie,” said ESPN analyst Adam Schefter, adding that after a year rife with scandal—including high-profile domestic violence cases involving Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson...more (http://www.theonion.com/articles/patriots-super-bowl-win-provides-storybook-ending,37901/)

And so does Dave Zirin. He sent out this tweet Sunday night: "One could not imagine a more crystallized way to end this awful, scandal scarred NFL season."
(All I can add is: Read him. You may not always agree with him, but he's got the big brass ones.)

This was Goodell's bargain with Kraft in order to make up for the fines d suspensions coming next year for the cheating.

NFL = WWF.
It's dumbfounding. I think they made a choice to roll the monetary profits dice, betting that the loss of older fans will be outweighed by manipulating an easy-to-convince newer generation weaned on and inculcated with the philosophy that the end justifies the means.

The NFL jumped the shark for me last night. It sort of reminds me of my proclamation that if the Knicks signed Latrell Spreewell then I was done with the NBA. They did and I think I may have seen one or two partial portions of a basketball game since. Last night was the worst possible ending for this season and I'm not sure if my fandom will ever be "reinflated" so to speak.

It is the perfect ending to a train wreck of a season regarding credibility and integrity.

You're not the first person to say this. See post #2.
