Even though quarterback Akili Smith has relocated from Cincinnati to Green Bay, and even though many thought the new address would do him some good, there are others who don't think he stands a chance.

For one, to thrive he needs reps. That's not going to happen in Green Bay. Plus, Smith didn't join the team until its offseason workout program was over. He's also likely to struggle with a new offensive system.

Having said that, it's unclear whether Smith will even make the team. Craig Nall and Doug Pederson are expected to battle for the backup spot to Brett Favre, which means that whoever loses that competition would likely wind up as the team's No. 3 quarterback. And there are no fourth-stringers....
