Tampa Bay hit the field Friday. Going to Tokyo for an Aug. 2 preseason game against the Jets made the head start necessary. The Chiefs got started on Saturday, and the Packers suit up for the first time on Sunday.
By next weekend, all 32 NFL teams will be sweating it out in training camps across the country, from Foxboro, Mass., the new camp site of the Patriots; to San Antonio, where the Bill Parcells-led Cowboys will begin a new era; to Napa, Calif., where the Raiders will prepare for the season. (The Rams will take the field Thursday in Macomb, Ill.) ...
