Re: Pernell McPhee -- Under Radar Rex signing
You're talking about two different players imo.
Hughes is a standup 3-4 OLB who is a speed rusher, while McPhee is a hand down 34 DE/OLB hybrid who relies on power and quickness.
McPhee is 6'3, 280 lbs, Hughes is 6'2, 254lbs. Not sure how it would work, but I think McPhee would be a great FA signing.COMING SOON...

Re: Pernell McPhee -- Under Radar Rex signing
Yeah, two different players, but the switch back to Rex's defense makes DE a must-have, regardless of whether or not Hughes is signed. A huge hole created unnecessarily IMO, but they need to get either a McPhee-type DE or a true NT....maybe both.YardRat Wall of Fame

On a good Baltimore front, he hasn't made a start since 2012, when he had six, but he played 550 snaps last season. He did so in a variety of ways.
He can line up on the nose. He can line up as an outside rusher. He can line up as an end. He can stand up.
He's not gonna be cheap, but I'd be delighted to have him. He looks like a Ryan pipedream, one of Pettine's notorious *****-kitty types.
Bet Cleveland grabs him.
