Harbaugh said the team’s “evaluation” of Manning was designed with the intention (https://twitter.com/Eric_Branch/status/207957262277410816) of having both Manning and Smith on the team next year.
“Were we out there seeing and evaluating if we could have them both? Heck yeah."

Nope Peyton didn't want to play in the same conference as his brother.

Point is that Greg Roman thought Peyton Manning would fit his system. If Roman didn't think Manning fit his style of offense, the 49ers would have never went out of their way to try and sign him.

By the way, where's Peyton?

Not a single photo of, "The Greatest Quarterback to Ever Play The Game." No mention of Peyton Manning, the face of the Broncos franchise.

What's going on in Broncoland?

One would think that the Broncos would at least have 1 story about Peyton Manning on their webpage.

Manning recently met with the Broncos this weekend and told them he wants to come back.

So where's the story at denverbroncos.com?

I don't see anywhere in either article any mention of Roman wanting Manning.

If the 49ers didn't want Manning, then why did they try to sign him?

Here’s Roman on meeting – and “evaluating” – Manning:
What were your impressions of Peyton Manning when you met with him?
GR: First-class all the way. Everything you’d expect him to be. Intelligent. Smart. Football junkie. Just everything you’d think. He was a pretty impressive guy.
Do you have a chance to sit and talk football?
GR: Sure did.

From your second link...

...Roman was unprompted today when he characterized the 49ers’ interest in Manning as an evaluation. Similarly, he implied their interest in signing Manning wasn’t piqued after he and Harbaugh saw the future Hall of Famer work out at Duke.

Doesn't sound like Roman wanted to sign him, really.

All in all though, it gave me a retro regret the Bills did not get Kaepernick in 2011 for Gailey's system here though Gailey would have dorked up with his DC's anyway. Thinking of Kaepernick in a Gailey offense just gives me warm fuzzy weekly 40 point game feelings. So then they would have lost giving up more than 40 every week but still...

The 49ers were desperately trying to downplay the fact that they wanted to sign Manning without offending Alex Smith.

Roman and Harbaugh sounded like two politicians on the campaign trail for Peyton Manning.

I dunno, I'm skeptical because both Roman and Harbaugh are hands on guys, and you get Peyton, you install his offense and get out of the way.

Holy crap, what are the Broncos waiting for? Manning met with Elway and the Bronco's brass, said he's, "mentally and physically," ready to go for 2015 and now all we hear are crickets in Denver.

I'm skeptical too, Mace.

"Peyton Manning Says He's Coming Back!"

That should be the main headline at broncos.com, right?

Where is it? The Broncos haven't even come out and said Manning is their starting QB in 2015.

Lay all the talk to rest and release a simple headline saying Manning is the starter.

Not there.

Peyton Manning is in NFL Limbo right now.

Why?

All signs are pointing to the Broncos releasing Peyton Manning.

You have a better chance of seeing Big Foot riding a Unicorn through Atlantis, Then you do seeing Peyton Manning in a Bills uniform.

Some people had the same feeling about Mario joining the bills or BB not making trades with AFCE rival bills with Bledsoe

Not happening. The local papers here in Denver have been reporting for a month that Manning will be back in Denver. He's just waiting on his physical in March and he'll be back. Hopefully his head falls off in the preseason.

Is there an offensive coordinator in NFL history that couldn't make Peyton work in his/her system? If so, that individual is probably among the worst coordinators in NFL history.

What is the exact point of this thread? Are you insinuating Peyton is on the way out of Denver and Roman will want to make a run at him? Don't hold your breath waiting for either of these things to happen..

BillsImpossible is enamored with Peyton Manning.

I figure there will be at least 5 more threads centered around the subject between now and the end of the draft.

That's what I've been reading. As to his head falling off - I leave that to the locals. :handball:
