Cap update per Sirius NFL Radio via Adam Schefter

Sirius NFL Radio just announced via Adam Schefter that expected cap for this season will be between $140-$143 million. How does this impact the Bills........discuss?

Most projections seemed to assume a cap of $140 million, so I don't think this changes anything significantly. The Bills should still have somewhere between $28-32 million in available cap space without making anymore cuts. That puts them around 8th in the league in terms of available spending money. And with no first round pick this year they should only need around $3.5 mil for rookies.

They rolled over close to $18M from 2013 into their 2014 cap. After adjustment, they ended up with an adjusted salary cap of $150,584,740. After paying salaries, IR payments, accounting for dead money, and practice squad, they ended up doling out about $148M of the cap...so not much rollover for 2015...about $2.6M so their adjusted cap is around $144.6M.

Which is less than 2014. But - they will have a decent amount of cap space going into this year - about $31M.

      So - the questions are:

      a) Will they spend big for big-name FA players?
      b) Will they re-ink important UFAs already on the team to new contracts?
      c) Will they keep money in hand for next-season UFAs Glenn and Bradham and Dareus, and Gilmore's option year?
      d) Will the new ownership just pocket the $.

        A & D = unlikely
        B & C = likely

I don't see Searcy getting big $$, nor Spikes. I'd bring them back.

Dareus, Bradham and Gilmore should get their $$ in the next year. Dareus for sure.

Big FA signings ? Mario Williams worked but most of the time it isn't wise. You can still find quality depth.

OL depth in this draft. Bills could select a couple big blockers on draft weekend.
