Bill Parcells' place in NFL history was secure. He walked away four years ago, insisting he was done.
But as usual, he couldn't stay away.

When the Cowboys start the grind of two-a-days Saturday in San Antonio, Parcells will be where he is most comfortable - coaching a football team.

He's resurfaced in Dallas, of all places, almost inconceivable for a Jersey guy with Giants roots. He's in control and under pressure - and that's the theme this summer as prominent players and coaches face undeniable pressure to produce. Nobody faces more than Parcells. He has staked his reputation on his ability to fix a team that's suffered three straight 5-11 seasons, hasn't made the playoffs since '99, hasn't won a playoff game since '96, has two inexperienced quarterbacks - Chad Hutchinson and Quincy Carter - and an overbearing owner with a bigger ego than his, if possible.
