Sources: Bills eyeing QB Sam Bradford

I don't know what the Bills would have to trade to get Bradford, but the interest sounds very legit. I'm definitely not a fan of Bradford, but this would certainly be an intriguing move.

The Bills believe they can win now, but do they have the assets to pull off a deal with a Rams team that has publicly stood by their franchise QB?

just saw this on facebook. depending on the price, is he really the answer long term? we don't just wanna acquire a band aid to stop the bleeding. and then to be in the same position a year or two from now.

That's the problem I have with it. We're talking about giving up draft picks and using a lot of cap space on a guy that has spent the last 6 years only proving that you can't count on him for anything.

If it happens I'll get behind it and hope for the best, but at some point winning a heisman and being a #1 overall pick just becomes irrelevant.

Depending on what we give up for him I'm very interested.

This is stupid on an epic level.

Bradford would take up half out available cap space and take draft picks to obtain. If we do this it will be the only significant move we make all off season. No RB, no TE, no OL help- you know, all the things that make a QB's job easier.

Plus, while the D is talented, a few personnel changes are needed to go from the 4-3 to the 3-4, and obtaining Bradford would limit our ability to do that as well.

This is only a good idea if you honestly believe that this team was Sam Bradford away from being a legit contender, and that clearly wasn't the case. QB was the biggest problem but there were plenty of others.

He looks to be our best option, we'd have another #1 pick on our team to compliment Mario W.

5 years. The guy is still only 27.

He was getting better and better (especially 2012 and 2013) when he got hurt in 2013. His injury history does scare me but if we get him for fairly cheap, I'd be interested. The guy is talented.

@mikerodak: Rams tell me that there is no merit to report that Bills are pursuing trade with QB Sam Bradford.

@viccarucci: Hearing the #Bills are not pursuing #Rams QB Sam Bradford, as being reported, from a source in the know.

@JoeBuscaglia: For what it's worth, I'm hearing that the Bills "pursuit" of Sam Bradford is not real.

do the rams really think shaun hill or austin davis is the answer? makes me nervous they are willing to part with him, depends on what they get of course. doesnt feel like a good move but i dont get paid to make it so who knows

This is a major assumption - and a negative one at that (shocker!). I'm not saying you wont be correct, but there wont be any way of knowing this regardless of whatever argument you make right now - conjecture and opinion are NOT fact. Besides, we did get someone who will definitely be a starting guard in Incognito, so your argument is flawed to begin with.

Now go ahead and list all the prior transgressions of the FO and lack of FA acquisitions that matter and ignore the point of my reply.

Very doubtful the Rams think Hill or Davis is the answer.

But they don't want to pay Bradford all that money either.

It's not an assumption. Bradford's contract is going to eat half our cap space, which means we have half as much money to sign other FA's. That's reality.

Sources say that we need a QB, there's no denying that EJ is going to be replaced.

I was including his junior year of college where he basically missed the entire season due to multiple injuries. He had a great sophomore year and won the heisman, missed most of his junior, still declared anyway, and went #1 overall because he was the best qb of a really poor qb class. His five year NFL career has been injury-plagued and unspectacular. Bradford is all hope and no real substance. If we get him cheap then I'm all for giving him a chance, but that's my biggest concern. That he won't be cheap at all because he'll cost multiple picks and a lot of cap space.
