McCoy has a hefty contract and Cassel's is not chump change either. We still have to sign Hughes and get a LB. Anyone an expert on the cap and can explain where we're at? Free Agency hasn't even started yet.

I doubt we'll be able to resign Hughes until he at leasts tests the market. We'll find another viable option to replace him for cheaper, maybe even someone who isn't a one-trick pony and can set the edge.

I think we'll go after one of the top O-lineman available and our 2nd RD draft pick will either go to a G or TE.

BUF's history of going after top linemen gave us Dockery and Walker.

Cassel = Orton.

NO WAY!!!!!
Cassel was .16 faster than Orton in the 40 yd. dash

Hughes is gone.

Everyone should have known that the day the season ended, he's gonna cash in somewhere.

Cassell is actually kinda cheap - 4.75 million

Right now they are at about 13 million. But there's room to be made if they want (Cutting Urbik, restructure deals, etc).

I think they are around 20th in the NFL.

How many years ago and dead owners was that, Cincy ?

McLoving is looking pricey as a 3rd CB. Boobie ($1.26K), brown ($660K) and Fjax ($2.7) is a lot of money for spare parts.

When you spend $10 million on your #1 you can't spend $3 on your #2 and $1.2 on your #4.

Well, the only dead owner that is to be noted here was Wilson.

Walker and Dockery were around 2007 or so - remember the hype? - punishing run game.

I think the coming PR campaign will spew the same. Trading for a name like McCoy, when anyone with an ounce of sense about football has observed the BUF lack of OL power for years, and that they have cycled through good backs yet dumped them for yet another one. Perhaps someday they will realize that spiff rbs do not compensate, and incidentally are now beating out CLE for most HC changes in the past 15 years or so.

Intimating that they want to feature a "punishing" run game or some such is as dumb as a few years ago when they spouted off about running a quick-paced offense.

McLovin isn't our 3rd CB. He's our 2nd. Graham is our 3rd CB or who knows maybe Rex puts him at S and we see Ross Cockrell at dime back this year with Robey manning the slot CB job.
