John Wawrow of The Associated Press is reporting today that the Bills and Searcy's representatives have not held contract talks in two weeks, which marks the point of the Bills' most recent offer.

At least they made an offer.

He's replaceable, just like Whitner, Byrd, etc.

Have to make room for the number 25 for LeSean.

Not surprising. Whaley came out and said that bringing Searcy back would be difficult. I'm guessing they'll just let Duke and Rambo battle for his spot. I liked Searcy and thought he was pretty underrated as a player, but they need to spend that money elsewhere.

I kind of like the idea of moving Leodis to safety. I think he'd play well there.

See this is the kind of underrated posting that we need more of. Very good observation.

I prefer a safety that can catch

I think it's Duke Williams time, but don't overlook Corey Graham. It would be nice to get him on the field a little more.

We may be looking at a SS-by-committee approach dictated by gameplan, opponent, situation, etc.

Feels like in-the-box safeties aren't all that hard to come by. Isn't that usually used as a negative when looking to draft one? Can usually find them in the 4th round or so.

If the Bills lose Searcy, then they are getting awwwwfullly thin at that position.

I think Williams can play SS, and Graham can play free. Plus the kids played well when given the opportunity.

McLovin is too light to play SS...

Searcy is going to want to test the market. Pittsburgh would be a good fit, I would think.

Searcy is gonna get paid by someone.

He's the best SS in the market.

Whaley believes Searcy is going to receive a contract similar to Aaron Williams. It didn't sound like they want to spend $10 million a year on the safety position.

The probably offered him 3-4 million and year and now Searcy is going to find out what he's worth to other teams.

I can't really get upset with either side.

its a very, very weak free agent class for Safety. Searcy is going to get overpaid massively.

He's replaceable.

I have nothing of substance to add in this thread at this time.
