New deal for McCoy could set the stage to resign Hughes

    Conjecture from our boy Sal:

"This reported new deal for McCoy COULD BE the precursor to getting Hughes locked up before Tuesday. Frees up some $. Let's hope and see."

It's a key step for any direction we may wish to consider.

“It breaks your heart when someone leaves and you don’t know why.”

"It may be raining but there's a rainbow above you"

Former President Donald Trump early Thursday touted the results of a new NPR/PBSNewsHour/Marist poll showing him ahead of President Joe Biden by 8 percentage points among independents.

Lots of luck coming up with a new deal for McCoy before Tuesday.

Hughes is a one trick pony.

It's not a new deal just changing the terms of his current one.

eh..so are you, but we keep you around.

Hughes was the missing piece on the DL. As much as people talked about him benefitting from the other 3, they benefited from him.

On more than one occasion someone else got a sack because he chased a QB and force him to move to his right or step up.

He can be replaced, but it won't be nearly as easy as people think.

Yeah, but it's a pretty good trick.

Yes - but Hughes was "figured out", so to speak, in BUF's latter games. Not bashing him - the opposition smelled how he was being used, and reacted.

Of course. Was there any doubt?

I agree with you. Hopefully we can get a guy who can get between 4-7 sacks to start in his place. Right now I wouldn't be shocked if we make a push for LaMarr Woodley as he has Whaley ties in Pittsburgh and has played in a 3-4 scheme before and might be an affordable option if we try to land a big name TE or OG.

I'm at the point of being OK with letting Hughes walk, IMO Spikes is a bigger priority.

He was set to walk once JPP and Houston got franchised and he didn't. It took most of his competition off the market.

His tricks worked because of the ponies he played with, I would re-sign him, He's going to flop on his own tho.
