RUMOR: Bills Interested in OT/OG Jah Reid

Drew Boylhart is more of a draft guy but sometimes gets good FA tidbits. Reid is a name we haven't heard/talked about previously.

Interesting. Would be far cheaper than the other guys. But is he any good?

I brought his name up early in the off season as I thought his flexibility to play OT/OG would suit us well. He's only started 7 games in his four years in Baltimore so he's a bit of an unknown. His draft scouting reports make him sound like a guy who has the chance to be great because of his measurables but leaves a lot to be desired when he gets to play. I don't mind adding him as a depth signing but asking him to be a full blown starter is asking a bit much. Think of him as a Chris Hairston type/replacement.

^ This. Replacement for Hairston maybe, versatile depth, nothing more. Should come cheap.

Not sure why we are interested in a guy who plays tackle?

Tackle play will instantly get better with improvement in the interior.

Because we need help there also, especially depth. Right now the only OT's we have on the roster are Glenn and Henderson, maybe KuJo if he's going to take another run at it instead of moving inside.

The 7 starts I eluded to earlier were all at LG in 2012.

Drew Boylhart is a Bills fan, I remember reading so when the Huddle Report was free, that was the year we drafted Losman and the guy hated the pick for us.

Would be cheap, versatile, and cool.
I was a big Reid fan out of UCF, and wanted us to get him badly.
Thought he had a LT ceiling, solid G floor.

Definitely agree that he's Hairston's replacement if signed.

Swing backup. Played only 10 snaps last season.

As I stated, there is plenty of quality OL in this draft and the panic button need not be pushed if we don't overpay for a name guy in FA.

And Seantrel was terrible. PFF graded him out as the worst starter on any team at any position.

I understand that he was thrown into the deep end, but we can't be serious about competing without improved play at RT.
