• The Bills are the team whose early spending gave me the most pause, and sources said they have an offer on the table to keep pass rusher Jerry Hughes at over $8.5 million per year. At that rate, they just might keep him, because I didn't see him doing much better than that on the open market. He's one of the free agents I think should have some serious buyer beware attached. Rex Ryan wanted the team to push to keep him last week, and they might have pushed far enough.

The #Bills are close on finalizing a deal to re-sign DE Jerry Hughes, according to an NFL source.

Shady really wants the deal to get done, however if it doesn't Shady can get past that..

Shady thinks Hughes would continue to put up the same production here, but Shady also thinks whoever Rex puts over there will produce..

Rex got 10 sacks out of Aaron freakin' Maybin!

Wait - I thought NFL rules prevented the Bills from making any moves after the McCoy trade?

I'm so confused.

You see this is why you don't mortgage your future on a Top 5 RB! You can't do anything after that!

I'm going to feel good about this until someone tells me how bad of a deal we got. Then depending on who it is, I'm probably going to feel even better about it.

If the CBS report is right then its about $8.5 a year, which isn't bad at all imo. Many here and online were thinking as high as $10ish.

so does this mean CJ is gone?

That seems quite reasonable to me. Rarely (if ever?) does a Buffalo free agent hit the market and decide to return to Buffalo, for that fact alone this seems like a good sign.

I wonder how much Kelvin Sheppard is going to make?

Lancanfora doesn't like it so you can start feeling better about it!

What?

Shady was poking fun at fans who are constantly negative.

hence the asking if Hughes could play QB post.. considering everything that Buffalo does isn't good unless we sign Rodgers, Brady, or Luck.

We can always resign our own players who haven't hit the FA market yet until Tuesday.
