PFT is teasing a surprise change to be announced from the Niners later today.

Some very surprising news related to the 49ers is coming, likely later today, regarding a key player on the team who won’t be on the team in 2015. A formal announcement is expected on Tuesday.

If not Kaepernick, who then? Probably about a pass catcher, if they're supposed to have signed Torrey Smith, may have to unload one of the Crabtree/Boldin/Stevie/Davis.

I hope it's Vernon Davis traded to us for a 6th rounder. :hump:

Sounds more like its a major team leader leaving which would indicate either Staley, not likely, or Willis.

Hopefully we traded for Willis.

At what cost though? I'd give them our 2nd rounder this year for him.

What the hell is San Francisco doing? They've gone from Superbowl contender to absolute joke in 12 months.

I can't see them cutting/trading Willis, he's a top player and I think he's making like $8 mil this season. There doesn't seem to be a reason to get rid of him, unless they're trying to start completely over from scratch.

My money is on Vernon, but who it really should be is Jed York.

It's not official until you start a thread and name it "Hate to say it but we're getting Kaepernick".

the good news is that there will now be sushi and pinot grigio at the concessions

the bad news is that now you have to pass a fashion pat down to get in

the niners fans seem to think its Patrick willis being traded. I can honestly say id do back flips if it was him. he fits the mold of rex's "bart scott" as well. veteran leader.

id gladly take him or davis. I wouldn't hate kaepernick either. but after last season with roman, I cant imagine it happening.

As Joe Fo Sho said, the 49ers have gone from Super Bowl contender to a joke of a franchise in just a few short months.

By midseason, their Stadium will look like the Stadium in Miami on game days...half full.

No shock on Smith retiring.

Patrick Willis retiring 30 is kind of a shock but he's a really intelligent guy who got his money. Why not retire now and maybe save yourself from more blows the brain? He'll get a gig doing TV in no time.
