Bleedgreen is doing cartwheels. Whoohoo 5-10 yard bombs.

This will be great. He will start the season with back to back 300 yard games. All the "gunslinger" talk will go to his head and he'll follow it up with a 4 int performance because he tries to force every throw.

After that, it will be a toss-up as to which Fitz shows up.

So many similarities between the Jets and Bills. Should make for good fun.

I feel the same, I can't hate the guy, warts and all.

I'd take him over Cassel in a second.

Id tend to agree, but I feel like they went with a "safe" game manager because with our current defense and (hopefully) strong run game, we need someone who isnt going to turn the ball over

That all depends on if he's on his two game hot streak or six game cold streak

Cant be any worse than Geno, all Fitzy has to do is keep his turnovers down. Adding Marshall is going to help Decker, and with Kerley in the slot i think he will be ok.

Can happen to any Qb, no?Down the field throws should be erased from the playbook since he cant make them with any accuracy. Fitz is a good backup for 2-4 games max per year.........if he has to start a full 16 you'll be no best then 6-10.

Could be. BUF thought enough of him to fork over another contract, as others have and appear to do. He's not a bum.

IIRC, BUF led the league in time elapsed after the snap and the time Orton launched a pass. That's been their philosophy since Fitz' time. They crowed about it when they inked Manual.

That's their answer to being abysmal in fielding an OL.

Both Fitz nor Cassel are average at best. Orton is the same. Both are journeyman with minimal value and no upside and neither should be viewed as a long term answer for a team serious about playing in the post-season. After all, there is a reason why each has not found a permanent starting position or franchise to call home.

Yes - it's sad - almost beyond belief - that a franchise couldn't come up with a qb that could match that, over what? 20 years? I don't think they have had any qb more than 3 years since Kelly, and here we go again with Cassel.

Hopefully it is EJ this year, but Cassel is the best QB that was available for the Bills to add to the team.

I just hope when the Bills find their QB he is better than Dalton.

and in the 4 years since his cinderella year of 2010, he has a stellar record of 9-17, more ints than TD's and a passer rating hovering in the low 70's.

Why don't you bring up Vince Young while you're at it, he led his team to the playoffs once. (maybe twice).

My god. Fitzpatrick is garbage. I can't believe some of you are still swinging from his nuts.He actually has been in the league for some time and started a fair amount of games in the NFL.

He's got pluck and a big heart. Not the most talented, but I wouldn't mind him calling signals for us.

If he's "garbage", why does he win the starters job with different teams and how does that compare to your resume?

It just shows you had bad those teams quarterback situation was.Fitzy's downfall is he throws picks at the most inopportune times, mostly when he's trying to force the ball in.

How does that translate into "garbage" or "he sucks" when it's a tremendous accomplishment for a player to even make an NFL roster?

well, in a QB driven league with a pretty bad lack of quality ones, people are desperate for whatever. Fitz is a great backup, a smart guy and has the heart of a lion. He's just not a quality starter is all.

theyre about the same. fitz gives you a little more offense but more turnovers, cassel is a little more plodding and generally protects the ball

id take either as the qb2 roles they have been given, but cassel is a bit more of a match for g&p
