Should The Bills Sign Vince Wilfork If The Price Is Right?

33 years old, turns 34 in November.

I would love to see Wilfork playing nose tackle with Dareus and Kyle Williams playing next to him.

3 year front loaded contract with a big but not crazy signing bonus?

If you're Vince Wilfork, what team would you want to play against the most in 2015?

I wondered about Vince Wilfork and we’re he’ll land. He’s considering 4 teams (including #Pats & #Texans). Will take his time.

    Doubt we could afford him.

Let's say Clay signs with a different team.

That's anywhere between $6 and $8 million per season.

I don't think Wilfork will get any more than $8 million a season.

I'd rather have Wilfork than Clay. After Dareus went out of the Raiders game last year, the run defense collapsed.

If the Bills want to be the next '85 Bears D, they need a refrigerator.

Who will be the starting 3 D lineman for the Bills in a 3-4 defense?

Jerry Hughes at left DE, Dareus at NT, Kyle Williams at right DE?

Is Hughes a better player as a linebacker or a defensive end?

Hughes is in no way a 3-4 de. Hughes and Williams are the olbs.

A one year deal for $4M sure.

Not interested in a multiple year or north of $5M contract for him.

I agree, Hughes is too small to be a DE in a 3-4. 6'2 254 lbs is way too light.

The Bills website still has Mario Williams listed as a DE, but Williams himself has said the Bills will use him as a linebacker.

At 6'6 and 292 lbs, Mario Williams should be playing at defensive end.

If Kyle Williams starts on the right, and Dareus starts in the middle, who plays DE?

Manny Lawson? No way, too small at 240 lbs.

                Corbin Bryant? Yay.

Stefan Charles? Maybe he's the next Jerry Hughes?

                Bryan Johnson? Too small.

                Jeremy Towns? Who?

                Jarius Wynn?

14.5 sacks at defensive end in 2014, and the Bills want to move Williams to linebacker?

If it's not broke, why try to fix it?

Mario Williams is undergoing yet another coaching change as he enters his 10th season in the NFL. A switch to linebacker has the veteran defender excited heading into the offseason in Buffalo.

Mario Williams excited to move back to linebacker

The 29-year-old said he hasn't spoken to Ryan or any of the coaches yet, but is excited about the prospect of moving back to a linebacker spot.
"I look forward to it," he said. "So hopefully if (Ryan) hears this, this is my call-in: Will Linebacker. So hopefully it works out."

No one seems too sure what money they have left at this point though.

Dareus will be the NT, K. Williams at one DE spot. M Williams and Hughes as the OLB.

I'm not sure if Bradham and Brown are the expected starting ILBs now?

Anyway, I suspect Wynn and Stefan Charles will get a crack at the other DE spot.

I just read his offers are in the 2 year 10 Mil range but who knows.

Exactly why Ryan wasn't the best hire. We went from having arguably the best dline in football to being 2/3 shy of a legit trench and moving two great 43 ends back out to LBer where both have weaknesses. Dareus is the only guy we have that can play a 34 DE, KW is too small to play NT (where he played under Pettine) and there is no Carrington/Branch to fill the other DE spot unless Bryant, Charles or Wynn can step up pretty big. Bringing Rex in created at least two holes where there were none before.

We've already missed out on getting one of the more coveted DT's by dicking around with Clay for three/four days, so other than Wilfork (who I really don't want, can't see him going all out against the Pats or caring much against anybody else) so that leaves us second and third tier guys like Cofield, Kendrick Ellis (one of Rexy's own), or Rubin. Plus a 4/5tech DE.

Ryan's 3/4 is not really a 3/4 though, it's a 4/3 under. Hughes/Williams are still the ends, Williams/Dareus are still the tackles. They just dance a lot up and down, with DB's dancing in and out and shuffling alignments. They only really need DT's for rotation and depth.
