    Vet Combine Yesterday in Arizona

Former first-round pick Felix Jones and the inaugural Veteran Combine class showed off their speed in the hopes of dazzling NFL scouts. Marc Sessler breaks down the highlights from Sunday's event.

Had to laugh at ESPN. Their Vet combine coverage consisted of Michael Sam, repeating the word Gay and no other news .

They are the Entertainment Tonight of Sports coverage.

Wilson and Kafka are interesting to this Bills fan. Also notable that Carriker benched more than anyone at the rookie combine.

Kafka was always an interesting QB at Northwestern. Had the ability to carry a very average team with little to no D and deliver big in close games. Average athlete but the classic overachiever, leader type. I was always surprised he wasn't on a roster somewhere. Ultimate gamer.

That's an insult to Entertainment Tonight.

ESPN really has outlived its usefulness, hasn't it?

Given that each major sport has their own network, and that each metropolitan area has its own regional coverage, what is the point of their existence?

To not give us the company spin on things as I really like some of their NFL draft reports. I also like their Outside the Line specials as it's true reporting. That said I can't stand Sports Center and NFL Prime Time isn't what it used to be since more and more players became commentators and Berman's shtick has run old.

Apparently after Bush ran the 40 yard dash, he said something along the lines of "4.91?! You gotta be ****ing kidding me. There goes my career."

It really shouldn't surprise anyone that these veteran RBs 40 times have slowed way down. On the other hand, I'm not surprised that a lot of these guys have gotten significantly stronger.

Re: Vet Combine Yesterday in Arizona

The 40 time is ridiculously overrated at the rookie combine. Making a big deal of it at a veteran combine when you already have tape of these guys is silly. I would think the best part of this is to simply remind gms who is out there and still interested in coming back. I mean, when was the last time you or anyone thought about Felix Jones?

Their ad money cut, and the money extracted from cable and satellite subscribers are part of the alliance with the NFL (and other sports).

Charles Robinson of Yahoo was reporting yesterday that scouts were saying to subtract 0.1 to 0.15 off the 40 times due to the way the NFL was timing it.
