Assuming the second worst case scenario happens and we end up with the number 2 pick, what are the chances of a trade up? If McDavid and Eichel are so close In talent and our FO decided they wanted McDavid at all costs..... What would it take to move up to #1? Both extra 1's this year? Or more than that? Haven't seen this scenario discussed at all.


Sorry both extra 1's meaning the on from NYI and the #31 pick.

120 points in 47 games. No one is getting McDavid other than the team that wins the lottery.

I would think it would take more than that. I'm guessing an additional 2nd and a player like Zadarov. McDavid is that good, IMO.

The GM that gets the number one pick in lottery will not field calls. You don't pass on that talent. It's called long term job security.

The 1st round pick in 2016 and Nikita Zadorov.. And that is likely not enough

i recall reading something the other day that if this is indeed the scenario, it suggested that murray was going to work on trading up.

personally, i think it would cost too much.

another question i wondered is, and theres nothing to it, just curious, if you have the first pick, and pittsburg came a calling, offering that crosby guy, would anyone take it?

Max Domi..Arizonas 2016 1st Round pick.. Might also be able to get Arizonas 2017 1st Round pick..

If Buffalo gets second, Eichel is also a franchise guy. Save the picks and work with him. There would be no reason to give up all of those assets and picks.
