You guys need to review where we stand now, literally at the bottom of all the standings. I know all about pride and honor but this is professional sports and not real life, so lets dump the whole naïve / only the good guys get ahead deal. Sabres are the worst team by their own doing or not but it's where it stands, so lets try to look forward to the team improving versus why they are the worst.

Re: To the guys who want things to fall where they may...
Last night and this thread were so inspiring to me that I have decided to become a Sabres fan immediately. Not sure if it will be long term but certainly for the rest of this season.
I had so much fun last night rooting and cheering for the Sabres to win. Quite frankly, it was more fun than rooting for the Bruins to win the night before.
This group of Sabres players has really seemed to bond together ever since that home loss against the Coyotes last Friday night. Not sure why. It just seems these Sabres players want the same thing as I do.
Why wait until next year when they are winning right now? This a great opportunity to develop a winning attitude over the next 5 games and build momentum that can be carried into next season.
I appreciate Sabres fans were not always welcoming to me before because I am a Bruins fan, but now that I am a Sabres fan that is rooting for the Sabres to win, I expect the Sabres fans will put aside our differences and welcome me with open arms.
We have some tough games coming up against the Black Hawks and Islanders, but if we continue to play with this positive attitude, we might be able to get a game or two into OT. Monday night we should beat the Hurricane at home. Columbus is playing well but so are we. That final game in Buffalo will be against a Pens team resting all of their players. It is also on Fan Appreciation Night so you know that both the players and fans will be up for that game.
Let's go 2-1-2 and show the NHL we were never tanking.
Go Sabres Go!!!!

Lame.
No real Bruins fan would ever even think something like that, even if it was sarcastic and intended as a troll job.
I'm changing my mind and actually beginning to think I am a better fan than you.Last edited by Dude; 04-02-2015, 09:34 AM.

What about Coyotes fans? Leafs fans? Have you spent hours trolling their sites too? After all, tanking is bad for the league, right?

To me, it looks like those 2 teams planned on winning this year when it started and after a bad first half, simply gave up hope. They didn't want to be bad initially.
Yet, their GMs will fired after this season and the Sabres GM has swagger.

I guess it comes from never having your team go bankrupt and having the NHL step in to save it from relocating.

outside carolina, the sabres are going to have trouble finding points in the last 5 games. chicago has been scuffling a bit lately and will want the two points against the sabres really bad. same with the isles and pens, who are in a dogfight for home ice. columbus is a good team that underachieved, i think carolina is the only game where coming away with some points wouldnt be that shocking.
and again, many people are assuming the yotes dont win or get to overtime themselves.
perhaps its for the wrong reasons, but this is the first time, in a long time, sabres games have mattered, truly mattered to the fans. its fun again. albeit in the wrong way, but still. its exciting.

IMO this last stanza of games is Ted Nolan's attempt to give the ultimate '**** You' to the organization. He probably got the players together and convinced them that after the season he was getting dumped, and probably most of them are also, so might as well bust ass to give the finger to the Sabres, because that's exactly what they are going to get from the team.YardRat Wall of Fame
