Ken Campbell of The Hockey News: Multiple sources saying that the NHL won’t televise the draft lottery live, but they will video the entire process and they will make available to the public. The NHL has televised the results live in the past, but sources saying that there is so much at stake, the NHL wants everyone to be able to see the process unfold so that there are no accusations of impropriety. “There will be full disclosure,” a source said. What form that disclosure takes is not yet known because both the league and its broadcast partners – Rogers Sportsnet, NBC Sports and TVA Sports – are still working out the details. We do know that the lottery will be held the night of April 18, which is the first Saturday of the playoffs. It will likely be held as part of the pre-game show for that night’s national game, which will be decided once the final playoff seedings have been determined. All 14 teams that have a chance of winning the lottery will be invited to send a representative to the event. In the past, teams have been given video of the lottery drawing process to prove it’s authenticity. The public hasn’t been given access to this video past, but that is changing this year. Next season the draft lottery will be changing again, with three lotteries for the first, second and third overall picks....

And btw the best the Sabres will do is Eichel. The league will not allow us to have McDavid because he will be more profitable in other markets.

Pittsburgh fans would not feel the same way since they have won Superbowls, World Championships, Stanley Cups and have seen real economic development.

Buffalo based fans just expect to be crapped on.

They want to be victims.

It's not about Buffalo being the victim. It's about the league doing what is in their best financial interest. Buffalo is the worst team in the league this year and is still averaging 97% attendance. TV ratings for hockey games are consistently higher in Buffalo than they are in the rest of the country.

The league will make a LOT more money with McDavid in Phoenix or Florida or Carolina or Toronto than Buffalo.

And the lottery is a non-transparent process that consistently ends with results that are both statidtically improbable and in the best financial interest of the league. Is it a smoking gun? No, but is sufficient reason for being suspicious.

It's not about Buffalo being the victim. It's about the league doing what is in their best financial interest. Buffalo is the worst team in the league this year and is still averaging 97% attendance. I disagree. Buffalo merch already sells at a high clip. Imagine if that merchandise has mcdavid name on it. Or even eichel? One of them in Buffalo is huge money for the league.

Have you forgotten the Penguins were about to be moved pre Crosby? Hell back in the day they first awarded the Perrault pick to Vancouver, thank God Imlach caught the "mistake".
