Rex Ryan Feels Like The Perfect Hire

In every way, shape and form Rex Ryan is a perfect fit in Buffalo.

The Pegulas hit a grand slam with Rex, and the season hasn't even started yet.

Is there any other coach you'd rather have besides this guy?

His personality wreaks of confidence, not arrogance. He's got charm, and charisma. He knows how to take a joke, and tell one too.

After watching the press conference and looking at those pictures of Rex Ryan sitting with Jim and Thurman, I got a little verklempt.

One big happy football family in Buffalo.

Jim Kelly went from a feeding tube to eating wings at The Big Tree surrounded by One Buffalo.

What a difference a year makes.

Jimbo went for the char-pit grilled wings, but it looks like Thurman ordered the mild wings.

    Mild wings, Thurm?

I just became incredibly hungry for wings, Labatt Blue Light, and football. To hell with summer.

I'd rather have Kubiak or Jackson with Schwartz still DC, but that's just me.

The national pub is nice, and the hire certainly energized the fan base, but the determination whether Rex is a 'grand slam' or a strikeout will play out on Sundays.

I like the hire. Jets biggest issue was their GM and front office, not Rex

Is that a Mike Pettine photobomb?
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
            It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Personally, I would prefer Fox or Bowles. I am not a fan of Rex's bombastic style but if he wins games I can live with it.

Rex was in my top 3 preferred coaches. I'm not sure if that's because I think he can win with this team or because of the excitement he'll bring to Bills football. I've just been so fed up with the dull head coaching hires...Jauron, Gailey, Marrone, etc. I wanted a splash, and we definitely got it. So far I'm happy with everything he's done and said, but we still haven't played a football game.

Yeah, Rex had nothing to with any of the problems....keep thinking that.

Rex's charm and rah-rah is all good and well and I hope it equates wins. But if we don't make the playoffs and go deep in it within the next few years, we'll still be calling for his head.

Of course some of us are going to be biased, but as a Jets fan you probably are, too. Sure Rex has his problems, every coach does. I'm think you were willing to live with his problems during those AFC championship games, though.

Don't forget that this Bills team hasn't made the playoffs in 15 friggin years. Some of us are at the point where we've become bored with Bills football, yet we still watch and cheer when we can. Rex has brought a level of excitement we haven't seen in a long time and we haven't even played a game yet. We're excited man, that's all.

                          Yeah, I will.

And you can keep thinking Rex was the Problem in New Jersey while the Bills kick the Jets AZZ for the next 10 years.

Ryan reminds me of largish louts that now and then infect one's local bar, gets increasingly tight over hours and gives off a continual odor of bellicosity.
