Murray probably had a foot in mouth moment last night, but it's good to see him clarify and also know eichel himself is not bothered by the initial comments.

I'd love to read that article but the web geniuses at ESPN didn't test their new design on mobile devices.

It basically says how excited he is to have the chance to draft eichel and also discuss the coaching search that'll be happening.

Pegula must have had a talk with Murray to explain to him how much of a dick he sounded like last night.

He's a great scout.

need a great coach to push him into that role.

Agreed on the scout part. But wouldn't you want a GM who can dissect young players well?

Wouldn't be shocked if that did happen. Murray said something stupid, though it was taken out of context

Murray's stupid comments of last night were again talked about on the pre-game up here for the Sens and Habs game.

What you want of a GM is for him to be an executive.

Scouts are cheaper and they should be reporting to the GM.

You need to be a people person to be a successful manager.

Murray clearly is better working alone as many scouts do on the road.

Who is going to hire this new head coach? Hopefully, the Pegulas do it since Murray with his poor social skills will not impress an experienced coach. That candidate is going to be thinking "Can I really work with this ape child of a man?"

Again... agreed 100%.

and jamjam... allow me to clarify. What the Pegulas need to do is box Murray in and let him do what he does best... evaluate talent. He can keep his super duper GM title. Hire a big time coach and let him become the vocal everyday leader of this organization.

If Murray had 1% of the presence that Babcock has, we would not be having this discussion.

I bet Murray's interpersonal skills have limited him throughout his life and that he has been passed up because of it.

The Sabres were desperate for a mid-season move so they hired a high level scout as their GM.

You mean his interpersonal skills held him back with the ladies as well as that mean-look he has?

Jesus, between Ryan/Bills and Murray/Sabres my avatar and description have never been more appropriate.

Don Cherry did a Top 6 mock draft and referred to Jack Eichel as a "defensemen" lol Totally unrelated to Murrays comments but I though this was as good as thread as any mention it

Did you miss the hockey Gods reference to the Sabres tanking and last night's lottery?

I guess you hear what you want to hear.

desperate? the sabres got really good candidates. murray hasnt really begun to mold the team he would like. like reinhart, you are jumping the gun in declaring him a loser GM. he said something stupid, he clarified it, everything seems fine now from all angle.

Know your role and shut your mouth! Worry about YOUR team instead of pulling a Tim Murray and obsess over ours. Right now...your team has no GM. They may not have a coach much longer. They're looking at a decent amount of roster turnover. They have a trade they'd probably like to have back.

Yeah, I saw that. Maybe he's right. Maybe we shouldn't have fired nolan like that. But we did, and maybe the Hockey gods spoke and we have to "settle" for eichel. Either way, it's evened up now. Now we move forward with the rebuild. Eichel is a hell of an addition.
