lol Babcock is looking to more than double his current salary.. Good luck if he can find a team willing to pay him that salary.. And I suspect if there was a team out there willing to give him that Gary Bettman would put the kibosh on it

Money isn't the problem for the Sabres. The Sabres would pay anything that Babcock wants.

Having a GM that Babcock respects is the problem. Babcock wants some authority over player acquisitions and a GM that has won it all before. A GM with a personality disorder isn't going to be attractive to Babcock.

He does sound willing to go to a team that has acquired a lot of top end talent through the draft and my guess is he goes to the Oilers rather than the Leafs or Sharks....

Babcock is going to get huge money one way or the other, that's why he didn't sign any extensions. How much is up for debate but this is more than an NFL coach makes, which seems pretty crazy.
